What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapy is a health care discipline which is primarily concerned with the assessment and diagnosis of human function, movement and mechanics. Physiotherapists are highly skilled in musculoskeletal and neurological systems and use this knowledge to develop treatment plans. Physiotherapists use a combination of manual (hands-on) therapy, exercise prescription and electrotherapeutic modalities to restore movement and function.

Do I need a referral from my Doctor before starting physiotherapy?

Yes. We have HICAPS for your convenience so that you can claim an immediate rebate from your health fund and only pay the gap amount. Eftpos and credit card facilities are also available (ex AMEX and Diners Club).
How long will treatment take?
You should allow 45-60 minutes for the Initial consultation and between 30-60 minutes for follow-up consultations depending upon the complexity of the condition.

What sort of treatment should I expect?
Jubilee Sports Physiotherapy specializes in hands-on manual therapy with a strong focus on exercise rehabilitation. Treatment often includes manual orthopaedic therapy, soft tissue massage, stretching and strengthening exercises, posture re-education, Pilates based therapy and proven electrotherapeutic modalities. Besides the clinical component of your treatment you will usually be given a home program and self-management strategies to facilitate recovery.
What should I wear?
You should wear clothing which allows the physiotherapist access to the area for which you are seeking attention. Shorts and a T-shirt/singlet are often the most practical clothing to wear or bring with you. Gowns are available when required.
What should I bring to my first consultation?
If you have a letter of referral bring that with you. If you have any x-rays, scans or other investigations which are relevant you should bring these also.

You should bring along the letter of referral from your doctor as well as your claim and employment details to you first consultation.
